Gastroanthropology is written by Adrienne Andrews Mitchell.
In February 2008 my husband, Nate, and I left San Francisco to live abroad in Europe. At the moment we are in London.
As a trained pastry chef I was immersed in the food and restaurant world. But my interest in food goes much further. I have recently finished a masters in food policy.
This blog explores all aspects of food. From the plot of land a seed is planted in, to who planted it, to how far produce travels and why, to who gets to eat the produce, and to all the many different ways we are offered and choose to consume.
Nate and I explore someplace different almost every weekend. We always check out the local fare and I will share those experiences and pictures as well.
I love to talk all things food so please contact me through my blog or email me at gastroanthropology AT yahoo DOT com.
I'm Reading.....
My second love to food is fiction. I started recognizing letters at age two and my mother taught me how to read (this initial sign of genius, however, quickly withered...). I don't believe in finishing a book I'm not interested in so I frequent the local library and only buy books I want to share with others or keep for a possible second read. Books I really love will stay on my reading list longer and will be towards the bottom. The top book is the one I am currently reading. All books are recently read so if you need other fiction recommendations email me. I may include some of the "food policy" books I am reading, which aren't fiction but may be of interest for those visiting this blog.
